Pride is here and louder than ever this year! The month of June, and honestly every month, offers a plethora of festivals and concerts featuring a diverse range of artists. Additionally, it coincides with Black Music Month. Specifically, we are introducing songs by up-and-coming black LGBTQ+ artists to add to your playlist. Although Pride is only one month, these songs will remain in our playlists for years to come.

Do What I Say’

‘Do What I Say’ is the most recent release by rapper/songwriter Kwn (pronounced kay-wuhn). The song is very catchy and let’s admit it, spicy. Kwn comes from East London and has quickly been moving up in the music scene. She has joined Kehlani on their UK Crash Tour dates and even co-wrote on their album While We Wait 2. If you enjoy this song, she has a 9-track EP out now called ‘With All Due Respect’ that is absolutely in rotation.

‘Kissing In Public

‘Kissing Is Public’ is a song by Destin Conrad. It’s featured on his newest album, Love On Digital, which is an excellent album with diverse sounds and stories. You definitely want to add this to your summer playlist, thanks to its infectious beat and catchy lyrics. Well, going from making vines to headlining your own tour is impressive work, and we’re expecting more amazing things from Destin.

Fairytale Love

‘Fairytale Love’ by R&B artist Dizzy Fae from Minnesota is another great song to add to this playlist, as it seamlessly blends genres such as R&B and Hip-Hop. Their last album, ‘Are We There Yet?’, was such a good listen. As a result, I can tell we are going to keep getting hit after hit from Dizzy.
